001 - Hello France, Here I Come

My wife and I have just finished packing our luggage. In about one hour and a half, we will be taking a taxi from our home in Kota Bharu (KB) town in the state of Kelantan to the Wakaf Bharu Train station, about 7km away. From there we will take a train to Kuala Lumpur (KL) which will depart at about 6.30 PM Malaysian time. We booked sleeping berths for us to rest in for the night, and the ETA at KLSentral station tomorrow is 7.30 AM, in time for a quick breakfast at the station. Normally the sleeping births are quite comfortable.

Our son would meet us at the KLSentral station and take us to my wife's sister's house just outside KL. Our flight to Paris is scheduled on April 10th at 12.55, but we will have to check-in on the evening of April 9th. Hence we will be in KL overnite to do last minute chores and preparation. We are taking Emirates Air, which first would stop at Dubai, and continue on with our journey, ETA in is Paris at 1.35 PM on April 10th.

My daughter who is studying at Chateouroux would still be having classes then, hence she would not be able to meet us at the airport. She would start her Easter holidays on April 14th. Thus we will spend the first 4 days in Paris without our daughter.

I have been sending some emails
in the last few days to prospective hosts in Paris requesting if they can provide hospitality for our first 4 days in France. Although the Regional Coordinator Mr Boubakar SOMARE replied that since this is a holiday season, hosts may be going on holiday themselves, and he is hoping that there will be some hosts who can take me. Yes.. we are lucky, so far three hosts have replied, two families said that they can host us for two days, and the other host can host us any time during our stay in France. Hey how lucky we are, and I would like to thank the three potential hosts for being so kind to have us stay with them.

I shall "report" later what will happen in the next few days.

Till then, please pray for our health and safety while we are on our long journey at this tender age of ours.

Cheers,
Abdullah.
