We Hosted Berit, Bjorn and Erl Jan 23 - 26 2010

.
Husband and wife Bjorn and Berit are from Norway. Erl (pronounced El) is from Denmark. They are good old friends always travelling together. We visited the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia ( FRIM) and took the track through the tropical rain forest, climbing and walking on top of the tree canopy walkway some 30 meters above the ground. On the following day we went to Genting Highlands. After staying with us for three nights our guests went to Melaka (Malacca) for two days. Then off they flew to Sri Lanka, returning to Malaysia on Feb 19. On Jan 20th they took the night train ( http://www.ktmb.com.my/ ) from Kuala Lumpur to Tanah Merah in Kelantan. At Tanah Merah they were waited for and transported to Gaharu Guest House at Temangan, a 15-minute drive from either Tanah Merah or Machang. They enjoyed the village atmosphere at Temangan, visiting the not so familiar (to them) rubber plantation, oil palm trees, tropical fruit trees etc. They took a day trip to Kota Bhary on Feb 22 and another one to Tumpat the next day.

Here are some pictures of their stay in Malaysia:

The canopy of each tree does not touch one another. Respecting neighbour's space ?

Kacip Fatimah, a herbal plant good for ladies.

Erl trying the tarzan vine.

One has to report to this post before taking the canopy walk bridge.

On the way down, rewarded with the cool stream.
