012 - 20th April 2007 - Troyes, Vierzon, Auxere, and smaller towns Chablis and Tonnerre

From Chateauroux, we drove towards the direction of Troyes, driving through or stopping at Vierzon, Auxere, and smaller towns Chablis and Tonnerre along the way. The scenery along the smaller roads were beautiful passing avenues, secondary forests, and then the wine country (vineyards). Our final destination of the day was the home of Mr Gerard and Mrs Monique RUPERT, located on top of a hill in a farming area near a small town called Essoyes. Mr RUPERT is a grape (wine) grower. He has a nice wooden house, with modern equipments and utilities including a swimming pool. He built two log-cabins by himself and rented them out to tourists and travelers. But we, being SERVAS members were given bedrooms in the main house. Mdm Monique was away in New York with her son who has an art exhibition there. Gerald kindly cooked dinner and prepared breakfast for us the next morning.
