023 - 1st May 2007 - Guided Tour of Dubai City

To familiarise ourselves with the city, we took a guided city tour. Here are some pictures.

022 - 30th April 2007 - Arrived at Dubai

We arrived at Dubai airport early in the morning, took a taxi and checked-in at Hotel Al Ras in the Al Ras (aka Deira) area. The hotel’s location is near the Gold Souk (gold market) and the wholesale market for all kindsl of products – a shoppers pardise.

021 - 29th April 2007 - Paris > Dubai

We returned our rented car at a rental-car office at Gare (station) Du Nord. After that we had lunch in front of the Gare Montparnasse before saying goodbye to Faisal and Junn. They will stay in Paris for a few more days before continuing with their journey. My wife and I took the train to CDG to take our flight at 10.00 PM to Dubai.

020 - 28th April 2007 - Leave Chateaorous for Paris, CDG and Dubai

drove to Paris

In the morning, after breakfast in the apartment, we went to the morning market at Chateauroux. Today is the day we had to say goodbye to our daughter Arlida because we are going to fly back to Dubai tomorrow evening on the way home to Malaysia. Faisal and Junn will spend a few days in Paris before going for their honeymoon to Germany, Prague and Italy. After saying a tearful goodbye to our daughter Arlida, we (my wife, son and his wife Junn) drove to Paris. (At first Arlida did not plan to go back to Malaysia that summer, but later changed her mind and went home in August 2007 any way because she was homesick and missed us in Malaysia). That afternoon in Paris we went to lunch at Little India at a Briani restaurant. We spent the night at a hotel at Saint Denis, Northern part of Paris.

019 - 27th April 2007 - Drove back to Chateauroux.

After a nice breakfast at the hotel, we drove back to Chateauroux. We spent the night at Chatereoux in our daughter’s apartment.

018 - 26th April 2007 - CDG airport, Rossy de France, Notre Dame, Latin Quarters

We woke up very early at 4.30 AM to travel from Bouquelon to Paris's CDG airport, about 3 hours drrive away to meet and pick up our son Faisal and his wife Junn arriving from Kuala Lumpur. We checked in at a budget Hotel Formule 1 (www.hotelformule1.com) at Rossy de France near the airport (no I am not paid any commission for this promotion). In the afternoon, we took a train to the center of Paris. We enjoyed a boat ride on river Seine, toured the Notre Dame Cathedral, walked around and dined at Latin Quarters. The rest of the night was spent resting at a hotel at Roissy de France near CDG.

017 - 25th April 2007 - Bouquelon

We travelled towards the home of Mdm Christiane BOUSSAHBA, a retired school teacher at a town named Bouquelon. We spent the night at her nice farm house with thatched roof from straw. It was warm and cozy in side. The interior of her house was simple but original and attractive.
